Naoko Esthetics Spa and Shiatsu in downtown Rochester draws from ancient healing arts to rejuvenate the body from face to feet.
Here you will find a master in the Japanese tradition of "shiatsu," or pressure-point massage. Owner Naoko Vold has practiced as a shiatsu therapist and cosmetologist for more than 40 years.
Today, she and her staff combine centuries-old skills with modern equipment. The spa offers a natural, holistic approach to bring beauty and well-being to customers.
The treatments are time-honored, but they need not be time-consuming. Guests on the go can enjoy a "Quick Shiatsu" or a "Mini-facial" in 30 minutes or less - without an appointment. An esthetician always is available in the reception area for walk-ins or short appointments.
Clients who want a fuller experience can linger with massages lasting as long as two hours... or care for their skin with a deep-cleansing facial, European style... or purify their feet with an Ionic Detoxifying foot bath.

If you must cancel, notify us 24 hours in advance for individual services and 48 hours in advance for packages. Package services require a deposit.
ROOM SERVICE
Naoko Esthetics offers on-site massages to guests in many downtown Rochester hotels. We are able to cater to the needs of patients recovering from surgery and other medical treatments. Room service is available in hotels with skyway access, including the Doubletree, Kahler Grand, Marriott and Hilton Garden Inn hotels. Please call for more information.

NAOKO VOLD
Trained in Tokyo, Naoko Vold brought her skills in shiatsu and anma therapies to the United States when she immigrated from Japan four decades ago.
After arriving in Michigan in 1970, she introduced shiatsu massage to clients in Michigan while working at an elite ladies' club in metropolitan Detroit.
Naoko opened the Dol-Vand Skin Care and Day Spa in Bloomfield, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, in 1977 and, in the next 29 years of operation, she refreshed thousands of customers with the shiatsu style of massage.
Four years ago, she moved with her husband Dan to Rochester and, once again, opened her own skin and body care business, Naoko Esthetics Spa and Shiatsu.
Naoko has been a cosmetologist, esthetician and shiatsu massage therapist for more than four decades in both countries. She is licensed as both a cosmetologist and a instructor of cosmetology in Minnesota.
She also is an active member of the Esthetics Committee for the Minnesota Salon and Professional Association. In addition, she belongs to CIDESCO, the world's leading international beauty therapy organization.
OUR SPA
Naoko Esthetics welcomes guests to a suite of nine rooms on the second floor, or skyway level, of the Broadway Plaza Building in the heart of downtown Rochester. The hydrotherapy area includes separate steam rooms for men and for women, as well as a Japanese-style deep tub with air injection. Although Naoko invites both men and women to enjoy the spa's amenities, they are separated for a more comfortable and relaxing experience.
Soft music and the nighttime sky overhead provide a calming atmosphere for guests in the main massage suite. The area can be partitioned for a single guest or opened up for Spa Parties with family and friends. Trace the constellations among the starry lights above!
Naoko's facility also offers private rooms for treatments such as colon hydrotherapy and phytobiodermie, which focuses on energy points in much the same way as Chinese acupuncture. However, its specialized techniques employ water, light and vibration therapy instead of needles.
The front area is designed for quick service, with staff, treatment chairs and massage tables ready for customers on short schedules.
All devices used at Naoko Esthetics are registered with the federal Food and Drug Administration.
